Separating black sand

Made a home made magnet this morning for separating black sand out of the concentrate.... works great!!
Used some old plates in case of "wife problems"

Nice, looks like a bought one. Just make sure that no gold is discarded when you throw away the black sand. Some of the gold might be stuck between the magnetic ore and the magnet, so let it down and lift it up a couple of times, before discarding it.

Yeah, agreed.... I just transfered it through 4 more containers & as you say there was more sand & possibly gold in the containers.
I'm keeping all of the black sand in a bucket

Let the black sand be pulled up by your magnet through 2-3cm of water and most of the gold will be washed of/separated.

For those that have any build questions here's how I made it, it took only 30 minutes...

I have glued it all together so I can't get any pictures of how I made it but it's really easy....

1. I had 2 round strong magnets & let them jump together.
2. I took off the plastic bottom on the Jula pump.
3. I superglued the magnets to the gummi suction cup in the pump.
4. I cut holes in the gummi suction cup so that the piston in the pump moves up & down easily.
5. I took the plastic cap from a cardboard tube that held some of my son's wall posters when they came in the mail & it fit perfectly on the bottom.

That's it!!!
