So yeah, had bit of problems with the sluice...

So wanted to metal detect a old reindeer herding site, a Kaarre, of which is the namesake of Kaarreoja ... ofcourse it being in the national park, had to keep digging to nil... but still managed to find some relics from the past :

Dang, I had expected much more gold than that from the megapit  But the water is really difficult to deal with, especially with bad weather... I had a similar season where I had to give up before reaching the bottom in my pit. At some point you just can't fight the water without pumping more, and the pit starts collapsing from the sides when the water rises again.

But don't give up, the bottom might be the richest paydirt you have ever seen - it was that way for me. I hope you can come back with a bigger pump for the pit and get to the bottom next year When you get 30+ specks from a few scoops of dirt, not even half a pan, you know you are at the good level ... 

Meanwhile, it will be very exciting to see what you find in the last few days of the season. Those upper benches intrigue me a lot  Have you done any testholes at all even higher up on the hill? I see your claim has a lot of land even higher than the ATV track etc.

The search goes on, but I hope you and Mr. Majaniemi get some nice gold on the last days at the claim 2021  Oh by the way, did you film your prospecting trip to the weird high deposits on Vasarova?

Yeah i was expecting also more, but then again it was very very deep ground. The pump actually could keep up with the water no problem, but the issue was that every time it starts to rain we had to stop in fear of generator shorting out. I will return to the megapit with dredge once i get it however. But in the past i've dug my share of empty pits so ... yeah you just move on and keep digging.

I've done some test holes pretty far up to the hill and there is signs of gold pretty far high above the ATV track pits. Never done any testing on the upper part of Rossinoja though.

If you are talking about those strange gravel bars way high up in vasarova. No i did not test them from gold. I just found them to be very curious and maybe some day worth investigating as they are bit strange.

Err i'd say must have been close to 20 or so days. We spent i think 3 days digging that channel, 2 siesta days because it was so hot. So yeah. Dont have exact count, but i'd say 20 - 25 days

So the channel managed to past 500 subs. Never i really expected even 100 let alone 500. So i had to make this bit of a celebratory vid where i talk a little bit about past summer, and reveal what is up next... More Naruska, a Lot more. Starting January 1 (date subject to change).
